Defendant will have to serve probation for check fraud.
America's favorite judge, Belvin Perry, has no love for Casey Anthony. The young mom accused, and then acquitted, of murdering her three year old daughter has been order to return to Orlando to serve one year of probation for check fraud. Anthony's attorneys tried to argue that she had already served her sentence while she spent three years in jail, but Judge Bel says no.
“To permit the defendant … to avoid serving probation now, would take a lawfully imposed sentence and make it a mockery of justice,” Perry wrote in his 13-page ruling.
Judge Perry gave Anthony until noon, Friday, August 26 to personally present herself to the Probation Department in downtown Orlando. Her one year of supervision begins the day she reports.
The judge also noted that a recent poll concluded that Anthony was the most hated person in the United States. “This court is very mindful that it is a high probability that there are many that would like to see physical harm visited upon the defendant,” he wrote.
So, Judge Perry acknowledges that many people in America, especially in Anthony's home town of Orlando, want to see her harmed, but ordered her back anyway? Guess he's trying to make the defendant pay any way he can.
