The comedian goes viral right before show debut.
Affion Crockett could very well be the new Dave Chappelle. His brand new show, “In the Flow with Affion Crockett,” has already ruffled some feathers stemming from the impersonations he does of big-time hip hop artists.
In true throwback form, Crockett, 37, tells AllHipHop.com, “It’s a sketch comedy show, in Living Color style — we call it the nephew of In Living Color.” For those with memory loss, “In Living Color” is the iconic 90s Keenan Ivory Wayans show that literally helped launch the careers of Jamie Foxx, Jim Carrey and former "Fly Girl" Jennifer Lopez, to name a few.
In the video preview to the show, the comedian is seen impersonating everyone from Kanye West to Jay-Z to Freeway.
Talking to AllHipHop, Crockett says, “I’m hitting everybody up. Everything that’s pop culture, relevant right now, everything that the hip-hop audience is really into.” That includes President Barack Obama, Russell Simmons (who even appears alongside the funnyman in one of his skits) and Chris Brown.
The show debuts tonight.
