The American Idol host is looking to add to his expanding empire.
Here's one we didn't see coming.
Ryan Seacrest is currently in talks to take over VH1 Soul. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the American Idol host is negotiating with MTV Networks to take over the VH1 channel, which is almost entirely dedicated to soul, R&B and hip-hop videos. Sources say the talks are "in an advanced stage" but the deal isn't done yet. Seacrest's reps had no comment.
The deal would add to Seacrest's growing multimedia portfolio, which already includes hosting gigs on Idol, E! News and his On Air with Ryan Seacrest radio program, as well as producing the Keeping Up with the Kardashians franchise.
Though soul fans may be puzzled by the move, back in April Seacrest told THR that any TV deal he made wouldn't result in "a Ryan Seacrest channel... It will not be branded with my name or my face, which many people will be happy about."
