After establishing himself as the number-one leading man of Black romantic film comedies over the past two decades, Morris Chestnut continues his acting work in diverse, small-screen roles this upcoming television season.

Shadow and Act is reporting that the 42-year old California native just signed up for a multi-episodic arc on the new FX drama, American Horror Story.

Chestnut will play the character “Luke” in the series, which stars Dylan McDermott and Connie Britton as a married couple that moves into a haunted Los Angeles home.

The Not Easily Broken star last appeared as “Ryan Nicholas” for two seasons on the NBC’s sci-fi alien drama V until the series’ cancellation this past May.

American Horror Story premieres on FX October 5.
