The actress turns 40; her former HawthoRNe costar, also celebrating a birthday, cries on stage.
Born and raised in Baltimore but watched as an actress since her debut role in 1991 on Bill Cosby’s “A Different World,” Jada Pinkett Smith celebrates her 40th birthday today.
Smith has been staying fairly low-key since the cancelation of her show “HawthoRNe” and recent rumors that she and hubby Will are breaking up.
Also celebrating today is rapper Xzibit, 37, and actress Holly Robinson Peete, 47. Like Smith, Peete recently lost her TV job. She cohosted CBS’s “The Talk” but was axed and says she doesn’t know why. She recently told E! News, "I've been around long enough in this business to know that, sometimes, you don't get a reason. You just pick up and keep moving."
In other related birthday news, Marc Anthony, who also lost some income from the "HawthoRNe" cancelation, celebrated his 43rd birthday two days ago with fans in Miami. People.com reports that the singer gave a sold-out performance on Friday at the American Airlines Arena and became so emotional when his fans sang "Happy Birthday" that he dropped to his knees onstage and broke down in tears.
