Students at the Brooklyn High School of the Arts were treated to a master class with Hollywood’s A-list this week when Samuel L. Jackson and Angela Bassett stopped through to talk shop with the Fame pupils.

Jackson and Bassett are currently in rehearsals for the upcoming Broadway play, The Mountaintop, which opens October 13th. But the veteran actors, joined by the play’s director Kenny Leon and playwright Katori Hall still made time to discuss the production with the students on September 19th and even gave the youths advice for pursuing careers in the arts.

The Mountaintop's premise is a fictional tale which imagines an discussion between Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and a chambermaid the night before his assassination.

Anyone who cut class that day had to be sorry— yet another reason for kids to stay in school.
