The late Gang Starr rap legend Guru will be honored with a limited edition Converse sneaker to celebrate his years in hip-hop. The X Label and The Ave Venice, a shop in Venice Beach, Calif., collaborated on the project and have named the sneaker "The Keithy E Demo Tape Shoe" as a nod to Guru's rap name. Only 50 pairs will be released.

The cover of his first demo tape will be featured on the outer and inner parts of the shoe and his signature will be imprinted on the sneaker's tongue. Fans will also be able to personalize the show with their favorite Guru song.

On February 28, 2010, Guru went into cardiac arrest and then slipped into a coma after surgery. He passed away on April 19 from cancer.
