Could the maids of Wisteria Lane finally be exacting their revenge? That's what TV mogul Marc Cherry is planning with his new series, reports Deadline.com. The Desperate Housewives creator and ABC are developing Devious Maids, an hourlong drama revolving around four Latina women who are maids in Beverly Hills.

The show will be loosely based on a Televisa series about five housekeepers who work in a quiet condominium where nothing happened until the day the residents decided to build a swimming pool. After a drought prompts a water shortage and the tenants begin clashing, the housekeepers find themselves in the middle of a murder mystery.

Cherry's version, which sounds like the downstairs version of Desperate Housewives, will likely be a bit dishier and perhaps more glamorous than its Mexican counterpart.
