Madonna has been converting tweens into mini Material Girls with her children's clothing line for a couple years and now she's going to style the older crowd with the launch of lifestyle brand "Truth or Dare by Madonna." The new fashion line, aimed at 27- to 50-year-old women, is named after Madonna's 1991 behind-the-scenes documentary about her 1990 Blond Ambition Tour.
"Over the past several years, I have been approached countless times to create my own brand," Madonna said in a statement. "The timing is right and I have found great partners in Iconix, who can help translate my vision to reality."
The line will kick off with the singer's first fragrance, named "Truth or Dare," for which she partnered with Coty Prestige for the floral, woods, and vanilla-scented perfume. The fragrance will be available exclusively at Macy's in April 2012.
"I have always been obsessed by fragrance and for years wanted to create something personal that was an expression of me but that other people could relate to as well," she said. "Something honest, and yet daring, hence the name 'Truth or Dare.'"
In addition to the signature fragrance, Madonna will eventually include accessories, handbags, lingerie, and possibly clothing to the lifestyle brand. The launch of "Truth or Dare" will coincide with the release of her next studio album in the spring.
