Some people really, really liked contestant Drew Ryniewicz.
Thursday night's episode of The X Factor nearly turned into a celebrity death match. After a controversial elimination in which judges Paula Abdul and Nicole Scherzinger voted to send contestant Drew Ryniewicz home, fans retaliated by sending death threats to the judges.
"I hope you die, you selfish----------" and "F**K you paula you dumb c**t you voted off the most talented person on your f**king show. i hope you die you DUMB B***H," are just some of the missives fired at Paula and Nicole on Twitter, reports TMZ.
Though his reaction wasn't quite filled with expletives or threats of violence, even Simon Cowell didn't take their decision well. According to sources, Paula and Nicole both got the cold shoulder from Cowell — who was "furious" with their decision — after the show.
Hopefully this bad behavior won't affect Mariah Carey's decision to join to show as a guest judge on the season finale. According to U.K.'s The Sun, the songbird has been tapped to replace Adele, who, it turns out, won't be well enough to face the 16 million strong viewing audience after her throat surgery.
