When The Game returns to the airwaves next week, our favorite sexy five — Melanie, Derwin, Malik, Tasha and Jason — will be joined by a brand new character that will be portrayed by Grammy award-winning songstress Brandy.

It has not yet been announced who the Brandy & Ray J: A Family Business star will play or which of the series' cast members her character will interact with regularly, but a spokesperson for the show promises that Brandy will be a part of one of the "ongoing collision storylines of infidelity, ambition, secrets and betrayal" that will make The Game’s season five one of its best ever.

When The Game relaunched on BET in 2001, it became the #1 sitcom debut in the history of cable television, with a record number 7.7 million viewers tuning in. Season five promises to up the ante with more laughs and drama over 22 half-hour episodes.

The former Dancing With The Stars finalist could most recently be seen in the reoccurring role of Marisa Harris-Young on popular drama series 90210. She will also star as Melinda in the upcoming Tyler Perry movie The Marriage Counselor.

But Brandy is best known for her role as Moesha Mitchell in the hit UPN sitcom Moesha, where she starred for five seasons.

The Game’s season five premiere kicks off Tuesday, January 10, 2012, at 10/9c on BET.
