Judge denies his request to nix the case.
Shaquille O’Neal’s request to have a lawsuit against him dismissed was denied.
The retired NBA star was being sued by his former mistress, Vanessa Lopez, for assault, intentional infliction of emotional distress and other claims.
According to RadarOnline.com, Lopez claimed Shaq started harassing her shortly after she told him she thought she was pregnant. Shaq denied the pregnancy, accusing her of sleeping with someone else. After Lopez broke off their relationship, she claims Shaq began to threaten her.
In the suit, Lopez outlines several scary incidents including a threatening text, allegedly sent by Shaq to a friend, saying, "dis is da numba shut dat b*tch up!"
Shaq attempted to have the lawsuit dismissed, but was denied. However, the judge did dismiss the invasion of privacy element of the lawsuit.
