The television mogul says she has projects set up at HBO.
Oprah Winfrey did a lengthy interview with TV Guide recently, in which she finally opened up about what went wrong at her struggling OWN network and what she would do over. ("Let's not blow our horns too loud," was one way she would change.) She also talks about missing the audience connection she had on The Oprah Winfrey Show, but glad she is no longer "tethered to the studio, constricted by who could come to see me."
Most interesting, though, were the hints Oprah dropped about her non-OWN activities, including a desire to return to acting (she was nominated for an Academy Award for The Color Purple in 1986). "I'm thinking seriously about movies again and looking at scripts. I have some upcoming projects at HBO that I'm really excited about acting in," she said, without adding any more details. Though, reports have leaked in recent weeks that she's been talking to her pals Jonathan Demme, Lee Daniels and Tyler Perry about potential gigs.
