Spike Lee Throws Fundraiser for President Obama

The filmmaker works toward the president’s re-election.

Spike Lee is looking to raise some big bucks for President Obama’s run for re-election.

On January 19, the iconic filmmaker will host a $38,000-per-ticket fundraiser for Obama in his Upper East Side brownstone in New York City. Couples will be charged $71,600.

On the president getting re-elected, Lee told the Hollywood Reporter last summer that it’s "going to be tough. It’s going to be a fight."

While Lee has been as much a critic of Obama as he is a supporter, the auteur is looking to put his Hollywood weight behind the president staying in office.
