Two more reasons to stay home this fall!
Motherhood hasn't slowed Tia Mowry down one bit. The star of BET's The Game (and her own reality show with sister Tamera Mowry on the Style Network) is adding another lead role to her resume with the ABC Family movie Mistletones.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, Mowry will play a singer named Holly, who auditions for a singing group called the Mistletones, founded by her mother 40 years prior, but loses the part to another girl, Marci (played by Tori Spelling). The snub inspires Holly to create a new group that eventually challenges the Mistletones in a singing competition.
Meanwhile, Don Cheadle's series House of Lies has been picked up by Showtime for a second season. The actor, who plays a cutthroat consultant willing to cross any boundaries for his clients, recently signed a one-year first-look deal with the cable network to develop and executive produce series projects. Could the strong ratings for House of Lies help Cheadle with his other pet project, the Miles Davis biopic he's been trying to launch for several years?
