South Africa just got a dose of star power. Idris Elba and Djimon Hounsou have both announced new film projects taking place in the country.

Hounsou and Orlando Bloom will play a pair of Cape Town cops investigating the murder of an 18-year-old girl in Zulu, the next film by French director Jerome Salle, best known for making the film The Tourist.

Elba, on the other hand, will spend some time on Robbin Island for his just-confirmed film on Nelson Mandela, a project that has been rumored about for months. Elba says the biopic, based on Mandela's autobiography Long Walk to Freedom, will be his next project. No other details--such as who will be directing the film--have yet been revealed.

This is the second Mandela project currently in the works. A six-part television mini-series on the South African president called Madiba is also underway.
