New Trailer: Whitney Houston in Sparkle

At long last, a glimpse of the Houston's final performance.

The wait is over. The first trailer for Whitney Houston's film Sparkle has finally been released. Fans have been waiting for a sneak peek of the late singer in her final role for months, and watching the icon will surely leave audiences feeling both enthralled, and saddened that Houston didn't live to see her own comeback.
The film, about three sisters aspiring to fame in the 1960s and their strict, overbearing mother (Houston), will be the singer's first time back on the big screen since 1996's The Preacher's Wife. Jordin Sparks and Derek Luke also star in the drama, a remake of the 1976 classic.
At one point in the trailer, Houston asks her daughters, "was my life not enough of a cautionary tale for you?" The statement has a haunting resonance at a time when details are emerging of Houston's troubled final days, and concerns that her daughter, Bobbi Kristina, may be embarking on a similar path.
