The Tony-nominated actor recalls a funny chat with Chris Rock.
David Alan Grier is many moons away from his days on In Living Color. The Detroit native has been conquering Broadway and recently nabbed a Tony nod for his performance as Sportin' Life in the Gershwin's Porgy and Bess.
The musical was named Time Magazine's number-one musical of the year and garnered a whopping 10 nominations, which included Audra McDonald and Norm Lewis. Grier, as the pimp Sportin' Life, also had a chance to show off his vocals, which many of us didn't know he had. Comedian, actor and vocalist: we had to sit down with Mr. Grier and talk all things Broadway and hear about conversation he had with Chris Rock.
