The actor plays Cedric the Entertainer’s wisecracking onscreen younger brother.
A new Black family will be joining the primetime TV landscape this summer: The Ballentines. Headed by patriarch Boyce Ballentine (Cedric The Entertainer) and wife Lolli (Niecy Nash), the clan goes through serious growing pains when Boyce gives up his sexy soul singer lifestyle to save souls in the church as a preacher. Rounding out The Soul Man cast of family and friend regulars are Kendall Clement, John Beasley and Jazz Raycole.
In the clip below, we get up close and personal with Wesley Jonathan, who portrays another member of the brood, Stamps Ballentine, Boyce’s charismatic, witty younger brother.
Soul Man premieres June 20 on TV Land.
