Michael Clarke Duncan Fighting Back to Health

Sources say the actor is still on a respirator, but he has a “very strong heartbeat.”

Michael Clarke Duncan is still in the hospital and on a respirator, but the 54-year-old is fighting hard for his life.

TMZ is reporting that tests were performed on the actor on Monday and Duncan’s doctors were very optimistic because of his “very strong heartbeat.” The Green Mile star is also “breathing above the respirator,” which medical officials say is also a good sign.

Duncan has been sedated since his heart attack and doctors were at first unsure of what his condition would ultimately be. Now, because of his strong heart activity, sources say a worst case scenario, like paralysis, would probably be unlikely. But there are still no immediate plans to remove the actor from the respirator. So while his overall situation is promising, it's also still critical.

The 325-pound actor went into full cardiac arrest early Friday and was saved by girlfriend Omarosa Manigualt-Stallworth, who performed CPR and restarted his heart. There are reportedly “an army of people” caring for Duncan at the hospital where he is a patient.

Michael has fans everywhere who wish him well and a very speedy recovery.
