Must-See: Lee Daniels' The Paperboy

The director packs an all-star cast for the period dramatic thriller, which hits theaters Oct 5.

For his highly anticipated follow-up to 2009’s Precious, director Lee Daniels is tackling a 1960s crime-thriller and has assembled an A-list cast. 


The Paperboy
, based on a true story and the novel by Pete Dexter, is the story of a reporter who returns to his Florida hometown and explores the gritty side of a murder investigation involving a death-row inmate. Along the way, all those involved must confront obsession, deception and personal demons.


The film, which stars Matthew McConaughey, Zac Efron, David Oyelowo, Macy Gray, John Cusack and Nicole Kidman, hits theaters October 5.
