The upcoming and highly-anticipated action drama Django Unchained has apparently weathered its immediate controversy.
The film is the story of a slave-turned-bounty hunter (Jamie Foxx) out to rescue his wife (Kerry Washington) from a brutal plantation owner (Leonardo DiCaprio). Quentin Tarantino’s take on America’s racial past is definitely more revenge film spaghetti western than Roots.
The film's all-star cast also includes Samuel L. Jackson, Jonah Hill, Don Johnson and Amber Tamblyn.
Django Unchained hits theaters December 25.
