Academy Award winner Denzel Washington is back on the big screen in a role that could earn him more Oscar gold. In Flight, Washington stars as troubled pilot Whip Whitaker, a talented airman battling a serious alcohol addiction. Whip successfully crash-lands a defective aircraft, saving the lives of most his passengers. However, it slowly becomes clear that he must also save his own as well.

Washington spoke to BET.com about why he wanted Don Cheadle in the film, chatted about his past movie co-stars and if he would join the upcoming planned Aretha Franklin biopic and more.
