195 Hudson Street has 99 problems, but power ain't one.

New York City resident Jay-Z did his neighbors a solid in the wake of Hurricane Sandy this week when he purchased a power generator for the building, Page Six reports. As most people know, large patches of Manhattan and New Jersey have been without power for close to a week.

Jay and his wife Beyoncé, along with daughter Blue Ivy, evacuated downtown Manhattan before the storm and took refuge at the swanky Mandarin Oriental hotel, which was not affected by the weather. Still, generous Jay didn't forget about his fellow residents at 195 Hudson Street.

Neighbors are calling Jay their "guardian angel" for helping them out, but the Roc-a-Fella mogul refuses to take credit for the good deed. When asked to confirm the gesture, his representative gave a coy "no comment."

The hurricane has made many New Yorkers embrace the commandment, "Love Thy Neighbor," and it's nice to see that Jay-Z has as well.
