Child Support Troubles for Chad Johnson and Akon’s Little Brother

Both battling babies' mothers over payments.

According to TMZ, Chad Johnson and Akon’s brother, Abou Thiam, have something in common: child support troubles. Johnson seems to have fallen behind on his payments while the mother of Thaim’s son is asking the court to increase his monthly payments.

In 2012, Thiam, Def Jam Records’ VP of A&R and Akon’s younger brother, agreed to pay his baby’s mother, Ariel Hakim, $3000 a month. But Hakim, who now claims that raising their son costs more, recently filed new documents asking the court to increase Thiam’s monthly payments. She also says Abou's income has increased dramatically as well. It is reported that Thiam earns $38,000 a month.

In response, The exec has asked the court to lower his payments because Ariel moved their son from Georgia to Florida without giving him the proper 30-day notice, which, in turn, violates his visitation rights. Thiam claims it also creates a greater financial burden because of travel costs. No word yet on how the judge has ruled.

Meanwhile Andrea Pearson, the mother of Chad Johnson’s son, has filed documents stating that the jobless NFL player failed to make his October child support payment of $5,250 (what he pays per month). She also claims he’s been tardy in making his previous payments.

Claiming she has no means of supporting herself, Pearson needs Johnson to pay up immediately. And if he doesn’t, she wants him in jail.
