Starz series Boss, starring Kelsey Grammer, Sanaa Lathan and T.I., will not be getting a third season. But, according to Deadline, the show’s producer, Lionsgate TV, is in talks to produce a two-hour movie to wrap up the series about fictional Chicago Mayor Tom Kane (Grammar) and the tough job of running a major American city.

The show, for which Grammer won a Golden Globe, won critical acclaim and developed a small but loyal following. After it premiered in 2011 to 659,000 viewers and averaged 3 million across platforms, its second season began with 317,000 viewers and, across all platforms, averaged 2.4 million.

The series beefed up its cast for season two by adding Lathan and T.I. Lathan was cast as Mona Fredricks, Mayor Kane’s new (but idealistic) chief of staff, while T.I. landed the role of Trey Rogers, a former gangbanger trying to build a new career in City Hall.

No word was given on why Boss will end or a storyline for the possible wrap-up film.
