Jamie Foxx and Kerry Washington knew what they were getting into when they decided to star in one of the most controversial films of the year, Django Unchained

The actors admit that the content and language of the film, directed by Quentin Tarantino, will make audiences uncomfortable. "It's supposed to," Foxx tells BET.com in our exclusive video interview. "But in Quentin [Tarantino's] film, the Black man wins."

Washington says playing a slave was "grueling," and that one more week of shooting "would have destroyed me."

For more on how the Scandal star and the Oscar winner got into — and out of — character, watch the video below. Django Unchained opens nationwide on Christmas Day.
