The pop star and boyfriend Gerard Pique welcome first child.

Shakira is a new mom! The "Hips Don't Lie" singer and her boyfriend Gerard Piqué welcomed their son Milan on Tuesday, she confirms via her website.
"We are happy to announce the birth of Milan Piqué Mebarak, son of Shakira Mebarak and Gerard Piqué, born January 22nd at 9:36pm, in Barcelona, Spain," the proud singer wrote on her site, explaining that "the name Milan (pronounced MEE-lahn), means dear, loving and gracious in Slavic; in Ancient Roman, eager and laborious; and in Sanskrit, unification."
The announcement continues, "the hospital confirmed that the couple's first child weighed approximately 6lbs. 6 ounces, and that both mother and child are in excellent health."
Soccer star Piqué, 25, and Shakira, 35, first confirmed their relationship in March 2011 and announced their pregnancy in September 2012. It's the first child for both.
