Alec Baldwin Denies Racial Slur on David Letterman

Actor gives humorous reply on late night talk show.

Alec Baldwin has taken his case that he did not call a Black photographer a racial slur to late night television. Appearing on The Late Show With David Letterman, the 30 Rock star humorously denied that any such altercation occurred.
“You know Dave,” Baldwin began, “I would like to begin now an official campaign to get The New York Post nominated for the Pulitzer Prize for journalism. The Post waited and waited and waited patiently for 25 years and finally they tripped me up and exposed me for the racist that I really am.”

The Emmy-winning actor listed the numerous human rights causes he’s worked for before saying that, while he has publicly said some unpleasant things in the past, he’s never dabbled in hurling racial slurs. “I thought it was interesting, by the way,” Baldwin said during the discussion, “that they assigned a word to me that I haven’t heard since Rod Steiger was in In the Heat of the Night.”

As we reported, New York Post photographer G.N. Miller claimed that Baldwin called him a coon. But an audio tape of the confrontation between the two revealed that no racial slur was said.
