Brandy, Lauren London and more celebrate the start of Season 6.
It's Game time!
The casts of BET's hit shows The Game and Let's Stay Together congregated at the historic El Rey Theater in Los Angeles on Wednesday to celebrate the return of the shows, which premiere in two week. The Game kicks off Season 6 with it's 100th episode, while Let's Stay Together is back for Season 3.
Casts of the two shows had an ecstatic reunion before settling in for a screening of the premiere episodes. Afterward, they engaged in a round of "speed dating" with journalists.
New cast members Lauren London and Jay Ellis of The Game seemed right at home with recurring stars Brandy, Coby Bell, Hosea Chanchez and Wendy Raquel Robinson. "Everyone has been so welcoming," says newcomer Ellis of his fellow cast members. "It's like opening a really big gift, something that I always wanted," he said of the opportunity to join the show. London, meanwhile, admitted she was "so nervous" about being the new kid on the block. "But," she adds, "everybody has been looking out for us. The cast is amazing."
As the most senior member of the cast, Robinson promised there would be no hazing of the newest stars, but did imply that the season wouldn't be without competition among the ladies. "We still gotta see who's going to be the new president of the Sunbeams," she said with a wink. "It's a changing of the guard."
From the Let's Stay Together cast, recurring guest star Christian Keyes, who plays troublemaker Troy, promises major new developments to his character this season. "I'm going to take a very interesting, very surprising turn," he teased. "He grows up a little bit."
The Game and Let's Stay Together premiere on Tuesday, March 26 starting at 10 p.m.
