Pam Grier Defends Django Unchained: "Now We'll Have Young People That Will Visit Slavery"

Being honored at Film Society of Lincoln Center, the actress talks her LGBT fans, biopic and more.

Pam Grier is the latest in a long line of stars to defend Django Unchained

The veteran actress, who waa honored last weekend by New York's Lincoln Center with a retrospective of her films, spoke to BET.com about what Quentin Tarantino's Oscar-winning film could mean for future generations. Tarantino directed Grier in his 1997 film Jackie Brown.

"[Kerry Washington and Jamie Foxx] would not have been a part of the film if it was so heinous and horrible," says Grier, giving props to the film's stars. "Now we will have young people, and people all over the world, that will visit slavery."
