Justin Timberlake is bringing disco back, at least on celluloid.
The "Suit & Tie" singer is set to star in a biopic about Neil Bogart, the iconic 1970s record executive known for his hard partying lifestyle and credited for popularizing disco. Bogart is most famous for discovering the late, great Donna Summer.
The film, Spinning Gold, is produced by Matt Damon and will feature a soundtrack of disco classics re-imagined by some of today's biggest pop stars.
The announcement for the film was made at the Cannes Film Festival, where Timberlake is promoting his Coen Bros. project, Inside Llewelyn Davis. The hits keep coming for Timberlake, who previously starred in the Oscar-winning Social Network for David Fincher and Trouble With the Curve starring Clint Eastwood.
A release date for Spinning Gold is expected sometime next year.
