Samuel L. Jackson Joins Barely Lethal
Samuel L. Jackson is taking a break from intense action films to do something a little more light-hearted.
The actor has joined the cast of Barely Lethal, Variety reports. The action-comedy, about a 16-year-old career assassin who stages her own death so she can live like a normal teenager only to face the dangerous waters of high school, also stars True Grit actress Hailee Stanfield.
It's not clear what role Jackson will play in the film, but in any case it will be refreshing to see him take on an out-and-out comedy after his recent dramatic turns in Django Unchained and The Avengers.
Audiences will next see the prolific actor in Spike Lee's adaptation of Korean cult film Oldboy, also starring Will Smith.
