Chad Johnson has been arrested in Broward County, Florida, TMZ reports. The former NFL player allegedly violated his probation stemming from his 2012 arrest on domestic violence charges against ex-wife Evelyn Lozada. Johnson reportedly failed to report to his probation officer on two occasions and also failed to show proof of enrollment in an anger management class.
Johnson is also in hot water over non-payment of child support to his baby mama Andrea Pearson. The former Miami Dolphins star claims he doesn't have enough money to keep up with his obligations.
Bail and a court date are currently being set.
The latest news on Chad Johnson is that he’s having a very tough time financially. TMZ is reporting that the former NFL star has filed new court documents requesting a judge lower his child support payments.
Presently, Johnson is required to pay one of his baby mamas, Andrea Pearson, the sum of $5,420 a month, but he now admits he can no longer afford such lofty fees. Back in March 2012 when he was a professional football player, Johnson agreed to that monthly amount and had no problems footing the bill. Last year, Chad claimed earnings of $66,000 a month. But soon after his head-butting incident with ex-wife Evelyn Lozada, he was released by the Miami Dolphins and lost several lucrative endorsement deals.
In his recent court paper filings, Johnson says he “finds himself without a contract and without a team. Simply [I am] unemployed.” The former baller even questions if he will ever make those large sums of money again, because he’s hit the twilight of his career.
To compound his bad news, just last week a warrant was issued for Johnson's arrest when he failed to show up for a meeting with his probation officer.
Sounds like Chad could use a work opportunity so at least his children could be financially supported.
