Khloé Kardashian and Lamar Odom's dream marriage has turned into a nightmare. The couple are unofficially separated after Kardashian kicked her husband out of the house for allegedly refusing an intervention for drug abuse, TMZ reports.

Odom, an NBA free agent after ending his single-season contract with the Los Angeles Clippers this year, has allegedly been hiding a severe drug problem for years. Kardashian reportedly forced him into a drug rehabilitation program last year, which he successfully completed. He stayed clean throughout the NBA season, but now, Odom seems to be tempted once again by his drug of choice, which some report as heroin and others say is the dangerous combination of Oxycontin and Ambien known as "Hillbilly Heroin."

The basketball player and reality star went off the radar for a few days after Kardashian reportedly evicted him from their mansion last Wednesday, causing concern within his family and others. According to TMZ, Kardashian has since located his whereabouts, and the estranged couple had a meeting on Monday. It is said that Kardashian is concerned only with "saving [Odom's] life."

She does, of course, have a lot more to worry about, if rumors of Odom's repeated infidelities are true. Cheating rumors hit a fever pitch in last month, when a number of women emerged claiming they had long-term and emotional affairs with Odom. According to sources, Khloé believes the rumors to be true but is more concerned about Odom's safety and well-being at the moment.

Kardashian did a good job of helping Odom hide his addiction over the years, both from family and TV cameras. According to RadarOnline.com, sisters Kim Kardashian and Kourtney Kardashian only recently learned about his struggle. While mom Kris Jenner has known a bit longer, she also found out relatively recently.

Neither Odom nor Kardashian have initiated a legal separation or divorce. Odom is, however, reportedly preparing to admit his prescription drug problem to the public. He also believes, according to sources, that his family in-laws leaked the story in the first place, although feels that his wife didn't have anything to do with the leak. The former Clipper knows that he will “obviously be subjected to increased drug testing by the NBA, which has a very tough policy on using illegal substances and steroids,” according to an insider.
