Idris Elba, Naomie Harris to Receive Hollywood Reporter Breakthrough Awards

Actors celebrated for their work in Nelson Mandela biopic.

Idris Elba and Naomie Harris will receive the first of likely many awards for their work in Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom at this year's Toronto Film Festival.
The actors will be the awarded The Hollywood Reporter's inaugural Breakthrough in Film Awards, presented by Bulgari, for their respective portrayals of Nelson Mandela and Winnie Mandela in the film based on Mandela's own autobiography.

The Hollywood Reporter Breakthrough in Film Awards highlights the incredible work of emerging talent,” said THR editorial director Janice Min. “We are thrilled to recognize Idris Elba and Naomie Harris for their roles in Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom, a film which tells one of the most important stories of our time.”
Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom is already racking up buzz for awards season, though the film won't be released until later this year. Elba portrays Mandela from the time of his youth, when he was an activist and organizer, through his 27 years in prison and his election as the first president of post-Apartheid South Africa.
