Viola Davis, Octavia Spencer Set for James Brown Biopic

The Help co-stars re-team with director Tate Taylor for Get On Up.

The set of the upcoming James Brown biopic is going to feel like a reunion of The Help. Director Tate Taylor, who helmed the 2011 Oscar-winning film, is bringing back the hit film's standout stars Viola Davis and Octavia Spencer for Get On Up, Deadline.com confirms.
Davis will play Susie Brown, who was only sixteen when she gave birth to the future music icon, while Spencer will play his Aunt Honey. 42 star Chadwick Boseman will portray Brown in the film that covers his rise to super stardom.
The trio were each Oscar nominees for their work on breakout hit The Help, with Spencer taking home the gold for Best Supporting Actress. Taylor's bond with Spencer goes beyond just the professional: the colleagues were once roommates in Los Angeles.
Production is set to begin on the long-awaited biopic in Mississippi this November.
