Jamie Foxx, Oliver Stone in Early Talks for Martin Luther King Biopic
The long-awaited Martin Luther King biopic may finally be on the fast track, thanks to interest from Jamie Foxx and Oliver Stone. The Oscar winner and his Any Given Sunday director are in early talks to jump aboard the film, which will be produced by Steven Spielberg and his DreamWorks studio. The company enjoyed big success with their last historical biopic, Lincoln.
Stone, of course, has been making historical biopics and event films throughout his career, from JFK to World Trade Center. Foxx earned an Academy Award for this portrayal of Ray Charles in the 2004 biopic Ray.
While the film is a ways from starting production, with these two heavyweights on board it may get the green light sooner than expected.
