Idris Elba Lines Up Next Role in Bastille Day
Looks like Idris Elba's schedule is packed for the coming year. The Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom actor and Oscar hopeful just signed on to play the lead role in the thriller Bastille Day, reports Variety.
Elba will play a U.S. operative who catches a young man suspected of planning an attack against civilians on the Paris metro, but he later realizes the young man is innocent, and may be his only hope of finding the true perpetrators.
The Luther actor, who also co-stars in the box-office smash Thor: The Dark World, has a number of projects shooting next year, including Beasts of No Nation, Jurrasic World and The Gunman. The British star seems to have really found his footing in Hollywood after a string of high-profile roles in the past couple of years.
No complaints here — the more we see of Idris on the big and small screen, the better!
