The business partners say rumors they tied the knot are "completely false."
La Toya Jackson is still a single lady, despite reports to the contrary. The blogosphere was abuzz on Monday with rumors that the singer and reality star, 57, tied the knot with her longtime friend and business partner Jeffre Phillips. Not so fast, Phillips tells E! News.
“La Toya and I are not, and did not get, married,” Phillips clarifies. The couple, whose engagement was reportedly filmed for Jackson's reality show Life With La Toya, released the following statement as well:
“The rumors that La Toya Jackson married her longtime business partner Jeffre Phillips are completely false. The reporting outlet should be embarrassed for their mistake and at least make an effort to find facts to back up their story before reporting.”
Jackson herself later tweeted, "Thank you all for your congratulations on what you thought was a marriage. It was a rumor. I'M NOT MARRIED!"
RadarOnline.com, who first ran the story, also claimed La Toya's mother, Katherine Jackson, and her nephew Prince Michael Jackson (the eldest son of her late brother, Michael Jackson) were in attendance at the nuptials.
Jackson and Phillips met in 1999 while working on the film Shriek If You Know What I Screamed Last Friday the Thirteenth.
