The Hobbit winds down, Frozen soars past $700 million.
Lone Survivor was the lone winner at the box office this weekend, racking up $38.5 million in ticket sales. The film easily beat the only other new wide release at the multiplex, The Legend of Hercules, which took in $8.6 million for fourth place, tied with awards contender American Hustle.
Disney's animated smash hit Frozen slipped back to second place but still managed to pull in $15 million. The film's worldwide total crossed $700 million this week, making it one of the most profitable animated films of all time.
Third place goes to Martin Scorcese's polarizing spectacle Wolf of Wall Street, while Spike Jonze's tech-savvy love story Her rounded out the top five.
Next week Kevin Hart and Ice Cube team up for Ride Along, while Chris Pine gets to work in Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit and Maya Rudolph lends her voice to the animated film The Nut Job.
