Toni Braxton on Who She Wants to Spend Time With After Midnight

The singer returns to Broadway with Babyface.

Toni Braxton isn't ready to start cashing those social security checks just yet. The singer and reality star, who announced her retirement last February, is back in full-effect with a role in the Broadway musical After Midnight. Along with co-star and longtime collaborator Kenneth "Babyface" Edmonds, Braxton brings jazz standards from Ella Fitzgerald and Duke Ellington to life in this old school Harlem-set production.
We caught up with Braxton and Babyface behind the scenes at After Midnight to talk about the music that influenced the production, why its important to them to bring the Black experience to Broadway and their plans to get a new generation interested in the theater.
Plus, we talk to Braxton about what brought her out of retirement and who she would want to spend her time with after midnight — the answer may surprise you!
Braxton and Babyface star in After Midnight on Broadway from March 18 until March 30.
