The Oscar nominee lands the lead in The Secret in Their Eyes.
Chiwetel Ejiofor is following up his Oscar nomination for 12 Years a Slave with a thriller and an A-list co-star. The actor will take the lead in a remake of Argentine film The Secret in Their Eyes, about a retired marriage counselor who writes a novel to seek closure for an unsolved homicide from his past. Gwyneth Paltrow will co-star in the film, which — if it follows the playbook of the source material — will have one of the biggest third act twists in recent movie history.
Meanwhile, Don Cheadle's long-gestating Miles Davis biopic will finally go in front of cameras this summer. The film, which Cheadle has described as more of a "gangster movie" than a traditional biopic, will shoot in Cincinnati. The project, titled Miles Ahead, has also added Zoe Saldana and Ewan McGregor to the cast. Cheadle will direct the film.
We'll be looking forward to both films early next year.
