Michael Jace, 48, who is best known for playing a Christian cop struggling with his sexuality in The Shield, shot and killed his wife early Tuesday morning, according to TMZ.
Around 8:30 p.m. in the Hyde Park area of Los Angeles, Jace allegedly called 911 and said, "I shot my wife." Jace's neighbors reported they heard shots fired from the home and when police arrived they found his wife, April Jace, 40, dead.
TMZ also reports their two children, who are under 10 years old, witnessed the shooting. Michael Jace was taken into custody around 1 a.m. this morning and was booked for murder.
In addition to Jace's run on The Shield from 2002-2008, the Paterson, New Jersey, native had small roles in 2006's Gridiron Gang, 2003's Cradle 2 the Grave and 1994's Forrest Gump.
