Laverne Cox, Chiwetel Ejiofor Among Critics' Choice Television Award Nominees

More than a dozen Black actors recognized.

The Broadcast Television Journalists Association have announced nominations for the 4th annual Critics' Choice Television Awards, which will be broadcast live from the Beverly Hilton Hotel on Thursday, June 19 and hosted by Cedric the Entertainer.
The nominations, which recognizes actors for their work in television, include more than one dozen Black stars of the small screen. Andre Braugher of Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Laverne Cox — who graces the cover of this week's issue of TIME — and Uzo Aduba from Orange Is the New Black, Chiwetel Ejiofor for Dancing on the Edge and RuPaul of RuPaul's Drag Race are just some of the notable nominees.

Cicely Tyson
was recognized for her role in A Trip to Bountiful, and Whoopi Goldberg earned a nod for A Day Late and a Dollar Short.
