Jackson and her longtime business partner will tie the knot.
Jackson, 58, broke the news on Good Morning America, where she showed off her massive 17.5 carat diamond engagement ring. While the couple hasn’t yet set a wedding date, they are already talking kids. "I've always wanted to be a mother, all my life," she said, adding that she's considered adoption.
The singer appeared on the morning show to promote her reality show, Life With La Toya. The upcoming docu-series includes footage of Phillips asking Jackson's father, Joe Jackson, for her hand in marriage. It will be the second marriage for Jackson, who was previously wed to former manager Jack Gordon for seven years in the 1990s. Jackson has openly discussed the abusive nature of their relationship.
Congratulations to the future Mr. and Mrs. Phillips!
