Sherri Shepherd Fired From The View , Whoopi Goldberg Remains

Jenny McCarthy also gets the axe from the talk show.

Looks like The View is changing this week. Sherri Shepherd and Jenny McCarthy have reportedly been fired from the popular daytime talk show, TMZ reports. That leaves only Whoopi Goldberg on the hosting panel as of now. (Show creator Barbara Walters retired from hosting duties last month, but will return to the show today.)
Shepherd confirmed the news in a statement on Thursday. "It's been seven wonderful years on The View and after careful consideration it is time for me to move on. I am extremely grateful to Barbara Walters and (executive producer) Bill Geddie for giving me the opportunity," Shepherd said to The Wrap. "I look forward to the business opportunities that lay ahead for me and I am incredibly grateful to my View family and my fans for supporting me on this journey."
McCarthy also addressed the news via Twitter. "My View will be changing too," she wrote. "As will with many hard working folks. Thanks to everyone at the show for your dedication and an amazing year."

The news comes at a particularly difficult time for Shepherd, who is in the midst of a messy divorce from husband Lamar Sally and is expecting a baby via surrogate in the coming months.
