Don Cheadle's Miles Davis Biopic Surpasses Crowdfunding Goal

With over $325,000 raised, film is full steam ahead.

Don Cheadle is having a very good day. Hours after the actor found out he was nominated for an Emmy award for his work on House of Lies, Cheadle's passion project, the Miles Davis biopic called Miles Ahead, broke its crowd-funding goal of $325,000.
The project has raised close to $340,000 with several hours left to go, which means production on the biopic is full steam ahead. Cheadle will play the jazz legend as well as direct the film, with Emayatzy Corinealdi signed on to play Davis's wife.
Unlike many celebrity biopics of late (Aaliyah, Whitney Houston), Cheadle can count on the full support of Davis's family and estate for the project. The late musician's family have expressed their pleasure that Cheadle will tell his story.

Miles Ahead
will likely make its premiere sometime next year.
