Sherri Shepherd Will Join Keke Palmer in Cinderella on Broadway

The television personality will play the wicked stepmother.

Sherri Shepherd may be leaving The View, but she's already got another gig lined up. The comedian announced today on the daytime talk show that she will play Cinderella's wicked stepmother, Madame, in Rodgers & Hammerstein's Cinderella alongside Keke Palmer.

This will mark Shepherd's official debut on Broadway, but she is no novice when it comes to performing.  Shepherd has been on Dancing with the Stars and and appeared in films including Precious: Based on the Novel Push by Sapphire, Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa and Guess Who.

This upcoming Friday, she will end her seven-year stint on The View and seems focused on reviving her acting career. Shepherd has also signed on to co-star in Ride Along 2, opposite Ice Cube and Kevin Hart.
Sadly, the cheery talk show host's personal life has been a struggle this year. She split from her husband of three years, Lamar Sally, in a messy divorce battle that includes a custody dispute over the couple's child, who was born on Tuesday via surrogate. Sources claim Shepherd does not claim maternity of the baby boy, who she says was not concieved with her egg, and that the newborn is a ploy by Sally to bilk her for child and spousal support.
Cinderella will kick off on September 9 at the Broadway Theatre in New York City.
