Ashlee Simpson seems determined to get in good with her new mother-in-law, Diana Ross. The singer and her husband, Evan Ross, who got married earlier this year and are now expecting their first child, will legally change their last names to Ross-Naess, TMZ reports.

Naess is actually Evan Ross's legal last name, though he has been using Ross as his professional moniker for some time. Now, the entire family will adopt Ross-Naess as their surname. A judge is expected to sign off on the change by the end of January.

Ross and Simpson were married this past September at mom Diana's estate in Connecticut. They announced earlier this month that they are expecting their first child. Simpson was previously married to Fall Out Boy rocker Pete Wentz, and they have a son, Bronx Mowgli.
